1 – Foreword by the Works Council Chairman

Dear Colleagues,

2026 is a special year for all of us – it’s time to vote again!

The Works Council election is approaching, giving you the opportunity to have a say in who represents you and your interests for the next four years. As the Works Council, we see ourselves as the voice of the workforce – we advocate for fair working conditions, respectful cooperation, and the further development of our company in the spirit of the employees. Especially in times of change, whether due to technological developments or new requirements in daily work, strong employee representation is more important than ever.

Now it’s time to look ahead: Which topics are important to you? What changes should we initiate? Your voice counts – and it helps determine how we shape the future of our working world.

And maybe you feel like getting involved yourself? Candidacy is not as complicated as it sounds. Every new idea, every perspective, and every committed voice strengthens the Works Council.

So: Use your right to vote, participate, and actively help shape the future. Because only together can we ensure that our workplace not only remains fair and secure but also offers room for development, respect, and good collaboration.

I look forward to a high level of participation in the 2026 Works Council election and thank you in advance for your trust and support.

Christian Rüger Works Council Chairman

2 – Works Council Election

Works Council Election 2026 – Having a Say in the Construction Sector!

Introduction

It’s that time again between March 1st and May 31st, 2026: The Works Council will be newly elected in many construction companies. For all employees, this is the opportunity to actively participate in deciding who will represent your interests in the company.

What does the Works Council do for us?

The Works Council is the elected representation of the workforce. It ensures that working hours, break regulations, wage issues, health and safety, and overtime regulations are handled fairly. Furthermore, it has a right to co-determination regarding dismissals, transfers, and new hires.

Why is the election important?

There is often high pressure in the construction industry – schedules, weather, physical strain. That’s why a strong voice is needed to advocate for fair conditions and your rights. Those who vote show: Our opinion matters! Those who don’t vote let others decide for them.

Who can participate?

All employees aged 16 and over are eligible to vote, including commercial workers and salaried employees. Anyone who has worked for the company for six months can put themselves forward as a candidate.

How does the election proceed?

An Electoral Board organizes everything – from the announcement to the casting of votes. You will be informed in good time via notices when and where the election will take place and how to run for office.

Speak up instead of complaining – get involved now!

Whether you run for election or simply cast your vote – every voice counts. The Works Council relies on the support of its colleagues. The higher the participation, the stronger its position in the company.

Conclusion

The Works Council election is an important democratic process within the company. It strengthens co-determination and ensures that the interests of the employees are heard and represented. Every participation counts.

3 – Introduction to the Großweil Branch

Großweil Branch – „with the construction of the A95 heading south“

The southernmost branch was founded in 1972 during the construction of the section of the A95 between Penzberg/Iffeldorf and a provisional exit after the Loisach bridge near Ohlstadt. Office and workshop spaces were rented on a farm in the Zell district, right next to the A95.

Using the simplest means, the branch gained a foothold in regional road and civil engineering after the motorway construction, which was successfully continued with the takeover in 1987 by Mr. Volker Wilhelm and Mr. Rudolf Strommer. In 1998, the branch relocated to the Großweil industrial area with its own office and workshop building.

The continuous growth of the branch, which currently has 113 employees , required a new 3-story office building in 2016 and a workshop expansion in 2023. Since 2015, the Großweil branch has again been intensively commissioned with various sub-projects for the continuation of the four-lane new construction at the end of the A95 near Eschenlohe and successfully continues the work of its founding years under the charming motto:

“The Blue Land in Blue Hands”

4 – Introduction to the Munich Branch

The Munich branch was founded in 2002 and has since been located at Otto-Hahn-Straße 8 in 85221 Dachau. The site currently has 131 employees. Specifically, this means 109 commercial employees and 22 salaried employees.

Since April 1st, 2023, Mr. Gunnar Brett has held the responsibility as Branch Manager. On average, the branch processes over 50 projects during a construction season , generating an average total turnover of over 30 million €.

Thanks to a good mix of young and experienced employees, as well as a very well-equipped machinery and vehicle fleet, and excellent business relationships with its customers, the Munich branch is positioned for a secure future. Furthermore, the Munich branch currently supports 5 sports clubs in the region’s youth sector through sponsoring activities , also to draw attention to itself in this way.

Personnel Structure:

  • 13 Columns (Teams/Crews)
  • 6 Construction Managers
  • 3 Senior Managers
  • 2 Dual Students
  • 1 Dispatcher
  • 15 Trucks
  • 4 Apprentices

5 – Report from the Management 2025

Dear Colleagues, Esteemed Schulz community,

A busy year is drawing to a close. The Schulz Group of Companies has again held its own well in 2025 with stable employee numbers of approximately 1,680 commercial and salaried employees. The annual turnover is on par with the previous year and will therefore amount to approximately 400 million euros.

Together, we have once again succeeded in ensuring the full capacity utilization of all operational units. The company will achieve a positive operating result, which allows us to keep our company up to the most modern standard. Investments in the machinery park and the general infrastructure are already planned.

As you all know, our federal government has decided on a large special infrastructure fund. Unfortunately, the implementation is often slow. Planning processes, approval procedures, and bureaucracy can often delay investments. Nevertheless, these are positive signs, and we can expect stable demand in civil engineering in the coming years.

We hear a lot about crises, scandals, and abuses in the media. However, we should not let this distract us from our path. „We create new paths“ – that is and remains our motto. With diligence and willingness, it is always possible to make a difference.

We sincerely thank you for your excellent performance and commitment. We wish you and your families a joyful and blessed Christmas and a good and healthy start to the new year.

Your Management

Christian Wilhelm und Markus Rieder

6 – Statement

Clear Stance Against Xenophobia and Antisemitism

Dear Colleagues,

We want to send an unmistakable signal: Xenophobia, antisemitism, and any form of discrimination or intolerance have no place in our company. Our company stands for respect, openness, and diversity. These values are not only part of our corporate culture but also the foundation for a fair, safe, and appreciative cooperation.

People of the most diverse origins, religions, and worldviews work together with commitment every day in our company – and that is a great asset. We all share the responsibility of ensuring that our work environment remains free from prejudice, hate, and exclusion. That is why we do not tolerate any statements or actions that violate these core values.

Should you witness or be affected by discriminatory behavior, we ask you to report it immediately to your supervisor or the HR department. All reports will be taken seriously and treated confidentially.

Let us stand together for a work culture in which diversity is valued and everyone is treated with respect.

Thank you for your support and commitment.

7 – SOKA BAU Customer Portal

Registration for the SOKA-Bau Customer Portal

Every employee should register on the SOKA-Bau customer portal in the future. One of the reasons for this is that commercial employees whose vacation entitlement expires on December 31st of the following year will only be able to apply for their forfeited vacation pay via this access.

The annual pension information will also no longer be sent by post but can only be viewed in the portal. If you would like to register, here is a brief explanation of the procedure:

Step 1: Request a security code

Enter your 13-digit employee number at code.soka-bau.de. You can find this number on your pay slip at the bottom in the vacation entitlement section. The security code will be sent by post in the following days and expires within the next 40 days.

Step 2: Registration in the customer portal

As soon as the security code is available, registration in the customer portal can be completed. Your employee number, a current email address, and a self-chosen password are required for this.

Further information can be found at https://www.soka-bau.de/soka-bau-a-z/kundenportal-fuer-arbeitnehmer. You can also register here in Turkish, Polish, or Romanian.

If you have any questions, we are happy to assist you with advice and support. For technical problems, you can always receive support from SOKA-Bau at 0611/707-4312.

8 – Representative for Employees with Severe Disabilities at RICHARD SCHULZ

Always Ready to Help

My name is Ralph Keller, and I have been working for RICHARD SCHULZ since August 2009. You have elected me to the Works Council for the third time. Since 2018, I have taken on the role of Representative for Employees with Severe Disabilities. In this function, I am the contact person for all colleagues with a recognized disability, as well as for those who require support in connection with health restrictions.

My goal, together with the management, the Works Council, and the supervisors, is to ensure that people with disabilities can work with equal rights in our company and receive the necessary support. This includes, for example, advice on questions about the workplace, aids, or applications, but also open discussion when it comes to concerns or suggestions for improvement.

It is particularly important to me to break down barriers – both in the work environment and in people’s minds. Everyone should have the opportunity to contribute their skills in the best possible way.

If you have any questions or need support, you can contact me confidentially at any time – in person, by phone, or by email.

I look forward to the exchange with you and to collectively shaping an inclusive and respectful cooperation.
